Gaos are considered to be one of the harmless monsters of Iron Tail's world. They don't normally attack anyone unless provoked but even then they aren't always capable of dealing serious injuries. Gaos are social creatures and they normally travel in packs though they choose to avoid a fight than actively engage in one. They're more active during the day and the wild ones could always be seen sleeping together during night time. Their diets consist of fruits and insects, which they mostly prefer to cook with their fire prior to eating them. While Gaos are always seen as wild monsters, some people have chosen to raise some of them as pets, with some believing that raising them will bring good luck while in some other places people believe that they are capable of growing up to be full-fledged dragons like the Ancients as they are said to be its decendants.
But both taking care and dealing with them once they grow up can prove to be a challenge as their bodies grow three times their sizes and become much rounder and heavier. While their flames remain as weak as they were before, they can tackle a grown man down with ease - though it's a known fact that it can be hard to find grown Gaos due to how they're easy prey for bigger, stronger monsters when they're young. This is why many packs would at least try to get one Gao to be full-grown so as to keep their chances of survival stronger.
At the same time, the older Gaos can prove to be good bodyguards due to their tough skin. There are different kinds of Gaos around the world, with some able to breathe other elements outside of fire.***
I've decided to go with this color but I might change them if someone would suggest a better color pattern. I decided to also put all the pictures I drew of them together to make it look like they're one happy pack

and also to show the size differences between them (though this might also change in the future).
So welcome the Gao! Either treat them as harmless monsters or as lovable pets!
No actual Gaos were harmed during the making of this picture. Oh, and if you're wondering what their size is compared to Iron Tail, take a look at the 'group picture' on my main page.
