Story:
The only survivor after her entire tribe - including her older brother - was slaughtered by outsiders, Des was later released from her crystallized imprisonment by none other than Iron Tail... 50 years later. While quiet and shy, her magical abilities are unique because she's one of the only ones who has access to them (the magic she uses are considered 'ancient' or 'forgotten'). She specializes in Protection Spells, mostly by surrounding herself or her friends in a magical bubble. While she was at first antagonistic towards Iron Tail after recovering her memories, she atones for her past betrayal by swearing complete loyalty to her new friends and allies, especially Iron Tail. She currently travels the world in search of any other survivors of her tribe.

And here come's Des! I think the one thing I like about the change I gave her is the way she talks: she doesn't have a full grasp of the Common Language used (English) and I can't help but picture how adorable it would look for her to talk to other characters - while at the same time saying things in her own language that no one else understands. While her age is stated here as '14' though, she's technically '64' because she was frozen in a crystal for 50 years. She's one of the more tragic and emotionally-driven characters in the story, but nevertheless she is incredibly loyal and acts like a 'guardian' to most of the characters.

A guardian is one who protects and watches over others. While Iron Tail does do that as a 'Hero', I always think that Des, who has actually lost many people dear to her, would understand a lot more about the values of life and will be more protective of them. That, and given the magic she's capable of, it's fitting that she'd be called 'The Guardian'.

She shares a close bond with Iron Tail, and has a sister-like relationship with Gem.
